Doc Morrissy will be presenting a lecture for us. entitled, "Totally Impromptu"-Emergency magic for the stranded magician. Doc says never again be unable to perform when someone says "Do a trick". For those who are interested, and we should all be interested whenever Doc talks about performing magic, he has the lecture notes available in both printed form (70 pages) and CD-ROM which is presented in PDF format, which can be used on pc's or Apple computers. MEETING MINUTES APRIL 10, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 PM by President Bob Coleman.
Both the Treasurer's and Secretary's reports were accepted by the membership.
On May 5, 2008, Doc Morrissy will be presenting a lecture at SAM #106. The lecture is entitled, "Totally Impromptu"-Emergency magic for the stranded magician. Doc says never again be unable to perform when someone

President Coleman stated that he has been in contact with Don Theobald and he is improving and has been moved from the critical care unit to a regular room. Don can receive calls at 815-226-2000 room 406 A. He is scheduled to be there for at least one week and then will be moved to a rehabilitation facility for three weeks and then home. Give him a call or drop him a card.
Bob Coluzzi displayed one of the t shirts with the Mazda logo that are for sale. Price for one T-shirt is $7.95. These have the Mazda Logo embroider on the front. He has one left in black, and some in white, and some in red. The shirts are very nice, soft material and the logo is very eye catching. Bob is also going to research the possibility of having golf type shirts made up with the logo. Thanks Bob for your efforts.
On April 30, 2008, the Knights of Sleights will hold their annual flea market at at the Diplomat banquet hall, Route 83 and North Ave, Elmhurst.
Our May meeting will be a lecture by Doc Morrissy. It will be the same lecture as described above for SAM #106.
The business meeting was concluded at 8:15 PM.
The evening's magic demonstrations were for Mentalisim. The following individuals presented effects:
Bruce Young presented a no name card and coin match.
Don Bothwell did a countdown card trick.
Freddy Fredricks did an ESP card trick.
Bob Coluzzi did a card match using Zenner cards.
Don Clancy did three effects, the first was called Medallion where the
prediction was revealed "engraved" on a medal around his neck, and
and two book test revelations.
Dave Byrne did a mind reading effect called " Eye know what you are thinking.
Steve Mills closed the evenings instructions with a demonstration of the Million Dollar book test.
The next meeting will be on May 8, 2008. Hope to see you all there.

MINUTES OF MEETING 5/11/07
President Steve Mills called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.. There were
13 members present.
Both the Treasurer's report and Secretary's report were accepted.
Bob Coluzzi reminded everyone of the upcoming lectures at Conjuror's Corner
Magic Club, held at Harry's Magic Shop (in the Four Seasons Golf Center),
1350 W. Lake St., Roselle, Il.. On May 29th, (a TUESDAY) the guest lecturer
will be Tomas Medina, on June 25th Jim Sisti will be lecturing, and in July, Oz
Perlman- 5th Monday, July 30, 2007. These lectures are $5.00 for Mazda member. Contact Bob Coluzzi.
Don Bothwell proudly announced the birth of his grandson, Jacob 9#7oz. Congratulations,
Don!
The evening's feature activity was member's demonstrating a favorite effect.
Doc Morrisey demonstrated the "Clippo" effect. Not only did he demonstrate
It, but Doc also gave a complete explanation on how to prepare the
newspaper and suggested some pretty funny patter to use with the routine.
Doc also graciously provided printed instructions along with several pages of
funny patter.
Pat Colcernian demonstrated the "Try the Impossible" card effect.
Jack Skalon demonstrated Danny Archer's "Big Bill" effect.
Don Clancy displayed the comic props he carries with him in his "sock
drawer". He then demonstrated his pet card selection routine.
Kevin Sarnwick demonstrated a clever Michael Close effect called "Pot
Hole".
Bob Coluzzi demonstrated several effects, the first being a hanky that
he enables to "stand" on it's own with no visible support, the next effect
was a quarter stack routine, and he finished up with a demonstration
of Larry Jennings chop cup routine.
Don Bothwell completed the evening's demonstrations with a very visual
"Cut and restored balloon" routine.
I hope to see one and all at the June meeting, which will be our last before our
July/August summer break.

The New Mazda Mystic Ring meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Knights of Columbus Hall 10 Villa Court, Elgin, IL
Those of you who where in attendance will know what a great evening it was. The New Mazda Mystic Ring held the meeting at Marshall Brodiens home in Geneva. Members where treated to maybe a once in a lifetime experience. Here members where able to check out Mr. Brodiens Museum which had numerous item from his TV magic Cards and Magic sets etc, items from the Bozo show, the original Wizzo Costume. The Mis-Made Cookie the Clown Illusion, tons of magic posters filled every inch of the walls which I would estimate to be 2000 ft of area space.
Members where also exposed to Marshalls days when he worked the Riverview as a magician and then a barker with Johnny Thompson. He brought back a lot of memories for some of the old timers. He reminisced about all the fun time doing the bozo show and all the inside jokes that went along with the show.
It was one great memorable evening that no one will forget. There were 23 members in attendance and a few of Marshalls guests which made for a fun evening. Also many members where showing some of their skills of magic as did Kevin Sanwick who always is ready to show something new and something old.
We had a slight meeting to discuss the up and coming Holiday party which will be held again at the
Fore Seasons Golf in Roselle, IL on Thursday December 14, 2006 at 6:00 PM. We had 5 volunteers to take part in the magic show that will be that evening following the food and refreshment. There will be a few children performers so bring the kids. There will be a separate mailing with all the particulars being sent out later this week. We have already had 15 people sign up and pay there $5.00 fee. We urge you all to book your attendance early so we know how many people we have to provide food and refreshments for.
Don't forget, the club meets the second Thursday of the month. The club's
continued success depends on individual attendance. See you there!!!

Bob Coluzzi reported that membership is now 32 members and we now have room for a few more members. There are 3 pending memberships at this time.
